Hon Chairman
Dr. John Ngigi
Dr John Ngigi is a senior medical specialist and the current head of renal services at Kenyatta National Hospital.He is an aluminus of the University of Nairobi for both his undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He is ISN fellow in Nephrology from the university of Stellenborsch and Tygerberg teaching hospital in Capetown ,south Africa.Through an academic collaboration with hospital clinic de Barcelona, Dr Ngigi has undertaken short preceptor courses in kidney transplantation in both Spain and Egypt.
His main academic interests are in critical care nephrology and kidney transplantation in which he has published papers in reputable journals.He is currently undertaking an operational research on a kidney transplantation program at the Strathmore Business School for his MBA in healthcare management.He heads the transplantation commitee at the Kenya Renal Association and is a sitting member in the African board and the fellowship committee of the ISN.
Hon Vice Chairman
Dr. George Moturi
Dr Moturi Completed his completed his undergraduate and postgraduate medical studies from the University of Nairobi in 1999 and 2006 respectively He did postgraduate diploma in diabetes from the University of Cardiff before proceeding to his Nephrology fellowship at Groote Schuur Hospital South Africa.
Dr Moturi has participated in several studies including ISN Global Kidney Health Atlas, H3Africa Kidney Disease Research Network studies and 0by25 ISN Global Snapshot study.
He is currently a lecturer at Kenyatta University Medical School. He is also a Vice Chairperson of KRA.
He has a keen interest in acute kidney injury and dialysis. His current research involves assessing the role of thrombosis in the outcomes of kidney disease in pregnancy.

Dr. Hussein Bagha
Dr Hussein Bagha is a consultant physician and nephrologist working at the M P Shah Hospital. He is the head of the renal and transplant unit and also the head of the department of internal medicine. Dr Bagha did his Masters of Internal Medicine training at the AgaKhan University and his nephrology training at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa. He has also completed his MRCP nephrology. Dr Bagha is a member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK), member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow), Fellow of the International Society of Nephrology, Fellow of the East, Central and Southern African College (ECSA) and the Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edin). He has presented at several international forums. His main interest is in kidney transplantation and diabetes.

Dr. Khalida Soki
Khalida Soki is the Lead Nephrologist and head of transplant program at The Nairobi Hospital. She is a fellow of the International Society of Nephrology having studied at The Sheffield Kidney Institute. She is the Deputy Secretary General of the African Association of Nephrology (AFRAN) and the co-chair of the Young Nephrologists Committee. She is also the treasurer of the Kenya Renal Association (KRA) and head of the media team and an executive member of Women in Nephrology Africa (WIN-A). Khalida has a critical care background and is passionate about improving patients lives through transplantation and patient education. She is well published in local and international journals. She enjoys traveling and is very outdoorsy, traits her long-suffering husband bemoans.

Dr. Philip Cheptinga
Paediatric Nephrologist and Chief Medical Specialist of nephrology at Moi Teaching And Referral Hospital, Kenya, Eldoret. Member of the Senior Medical Staff (SMS) Leadership Group and Clinical Operations and Ambulatory Services (COAS) Leadership team, the role of Director is to provide professional leadership and promote excellence in clinical care, research and teaching in the field of Nephrology within a whole of MTRH context. As the Chief Medical Specialist, contributes to the development of the business plan for the division and is accountable for the achievement of goals articulated within the plan. Maintains key accountability for the standard of care and patient outcomes within department. Provide professional leadership to (clinical) staff to ensure services that efficiently and effectively enable the delivery of exceptional patient focused care. Works closely with the Clinical Education Unit, Basic and Advanced Physician trainees and their supervisors to provide a comprehensive and supportive teaching environment. Chairman enterprise risk management MTRH. Chair of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).

Prof .Seth Mcligeyo
Prof. McLigeyo is a Professor of Internal Medicine and Nephrology at the Department of Clinical Medicine and Therapeutics in the University of Nairobi. He completed his MMed in 1986 and proceeded to undertake Nephrology and Transplantation fellowship studies in various institutions including Western General in Edinburgh (1987/1988); Guys Hospital (1989/1990); and Tel Aviv (1991). He headed the Renal Unit in the Kenyatta National Hospital from 1994 – 2002. He is a former chairman of the Kenya Renal Association. He is widely published in international peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Esther Getambu
Trained in Nephrology at the Newcastle Freeman hospital in 1989, Did under graduate and post graduate Degrees at the University of Nairobi Work as a Nephrologist since 19 90 in Mombasa Coast general Hospital, was the first Nephrologist in Mombasa Started the and supervised the Pandya, Coast General, Premier and Jocham and Mombasa Hospital Dialysis unit. Organized the Post graduate Renal Nurses training at the North Coast Medical training Centers and the training of clinical officers Nephrology to support Nephrology in places where there is no Nephrologist Was one of the Physicians responsible for organizing the Diabetic Clinic at the Coast General hospital with a client base of over 9000 patients by 2015. Organized the management protocol of patients with early Sign of Renal failure and protocol for detecting kidney involvement early in the management of Diabetes to mitigate against or slow down Diabetic Kidney Disease organized for their dialysis and transplant. I am the Kenya Representative for ECSACOP fellowship training and was involved in the negotiation of the Establishment of EAKI nephrology training Centre. Held various Hospital Administration portfolios in Mombasa and Nairobi

Dr. Doris Kinuthia
Paediatric Nephrologist. She did her fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children Great Ormond Street, London. U.K.
She was a senior lecturer in the University of Nairobi, Department of Paediatrics and worked for many years in the renal unit in Kenyatta National Hospital. Currently she is a Senior Lecturer Department of Paediatrics Aga Khan University. She also practices paediatric nephrology in many private hospitals in Nairobi. She is an honorary lecturer at University of Nairobi in the East Africa Kidney Institute (EAKI). She has vast experience as a trainer and mentor in Paediatric HIV medicine and has worked with many international groups in this field.
Her research interests are in chronic renal diseases in children, renal diseases in children with HIV and sickle cell disease and renal tubular disorders in children. Currently she is the chairlady of the peritoneal dialysis sub-committee of Kenya Renal Association.
